All tryouts will take place at H4 Sports Academy in Edina (formerly Athletic Gaines).
We are excited to offer a no-cut policy for 10s-14s players, ensuring every athlete will be placed on a CLUB team. If tryout registration numbers are high, we may need to close registration once we reach our maximum capacity, so be sure to sign up early to secure your spot at tryouts! *This does not apply to our additional tryout at 1pm.

Age Divisions

10 and Under : Born on or after July 1, 2015

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007 (18 years or younger) who shall neither have competed nor are in a grade higher than the eleventh grade (11th) during the current academic year will be allowed to participate at the USA JNC on 17 and under teams.

18 and Under : Born on or after July 1, 2007 OR Players who were born on or after July 1, 2006 AND a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during some part of the current academic year.
Tryout Agenda
Check-in/doors open: 9:00am
During the check in process we will provide you with some paperwork to complete while you wait to speed along the process.
Tryouts begin: 9:30am
Parent meeting: 9:30am
The club director will have a brief parent meeting on the turf area inside H4 Sports Academy. During this meeting we will quickly explain what to need to know/do for tryouts and answer any questions.
Players should wear/bring: proper volleyball apparel (t-shirt, spandex shorts/leggings, kneepads, socks and court shoes), and a labeled water bottle.
Tryout evaluation: During tryouts, our coaches will evaluate players based on skills, position, work ethic, attitude, and more to form teams. Teams will not be decided on tryout day. You will make "the club" and we use our first two weeks of practices to finalize our teams!
Paperwork and fees: When your daughter is accepted into the club at tryouts, you will be required to sign binding paperwork, committing to Freeze for the 2025-2026 club season, and make a $1,000 payment toward your team fee. During the check in process we will provide you with some paperwork to complete ahead of time to speed along the process.
Team Practice Start Dates
We will begin practices the week of November 9. Our first two weeks of practices will run as evaluation practices to finalize our club teams. You will receive an email with your initial practice schedule shortly following tryouts. Once we finalize teams, you will be given your practice and tournament schedule for the remainder of the season. While we work very hard to maintain a consistent practice schedule for the season, practice and tournament schedules are always subject to change.
Our proposed practice plan (*subject to change):

10s-12s: Mondays and Wednesdays: 5-6:30pm or Tuesdays and Thursdays: 5-6:30pm

13s-14s: Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays and Wednesdays 5-7:30pm or 6-8:30pm (includes 30 min of strength training)

15s-16s: Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays and Wednesdays: 7-9:30pm (includes 30 min of strength training).

17s-18s: Mondays and Wednesdays: 7-9:30pm (includes 30 min of strength training)
Team Fee Payments
When your daughter is accepted into the club, the full team fee is required, even if she quits, misses practices or tournaments, or becomes injured. This is because your payments secure her spot on a roster and cover both team-wide expenses and her individual costs. $1,000.00 is due on tryout day if your daughter commits to Freeze Volleyball. Checks are preferred. A 3% convenience fee will be added to any credit card/Venmo transactions. After the initial $1,000.00 payment at tryouts, you will set up an automatic online payment plan on our website for the remainder of your team fee, Your remaining team fee will be split into 4 payments: December, January, February and March.
Pre-Season Kickoff Event
As the season begins, we require at least one parent/guardian and every player to attend a pre-season kick off event in early December! This is a fun time to connect with each other and important information about the season will be covered. Details regarding the date and time will be sent out following tryouts.
